Each year before invoices are generated, LeadingAge Pacific West asks member organizations to review and update their Program Service Revenue either by contacting us directly or through the online Member Community Dashboard. This information is essential for accurately determining membership dues for the upcoming calendar year.
Dues are assessed using a tiered (banded) formula based on each community's Program Service Revenue. This figure is typically sourced from your audited financial statements, cost reports, operating budget, annual profit and loss statement or (for housing providers) your rental income per each property serving and supporting older adults.
Program service revenue is defined as:
Program services are those activities your organization was created to conduct, plus programs and activities later added, that form the basis of your current federal tax exemption. Program service revenue includes, but is not limited to, revenue from nursing care, assisted living, independent living, adult day care services, home health care, transportation, outpatient services, hospice, meals and other community-based services.
Program service revenue would exclude your interest on savings and temporary cash investments, realized and unrealized gains or losses, special events and activities, charitable contributions, and any other services unrelated to LeadingAge and LeadingAge Pacific West's mission.
If you are a LTCU of a Hospital, please only provide revenue from the relevant business lines for aging services and not the entire hospital.
Program service revenue can be provided from one of the following documents using the IRS definition (see above) for program service revenue:
Yes, LeadingAge advocates on your behalf at the national level, engaging with Congress, CMS, and other key stakeholders to represent the interests of aging services providers while LeadingAge Pacific West advocates at the state level. Both provide valuable resources and tools for your entire team, board and residents.
LeadingAge Pacific West and LeadingAge National have a reciprocal membership agreement, which is consistent across all state affiliates. This means that when you are a member of LeadingAge Pacific West, you are also a member of LeadingAge National.
As part of this relationship, members should receive regular communications—typically weekly—from LeadingAge National, providing updates on federal policy developments and advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C.
