About LeadingAge Pacific West

LeadingAge Pacific West represents the expansion of LeadingAge California into Hawaiʻi, Idaho and Nevada. Founded in 1961, LeadingAge California is the state’s leading advocate for quality, non-profit senior living and care. The association’s advocacy, educational programs and public relations help its members best serve the needs of the state’s older adults. 

In 2026, LeadingAge California announced an expansion into Hawaiʻi and Nevada. Together, LeadingAge California and LeadingAge Pacific West represent over 800 non-profit providers of senior living and care, as well as business services providers, across California, Hawaiʻi, Idaho and Nevada, including:

  • Affordable Housing and Home Sharing
  • Life Plan Communities/Continuing Care Retirement Communities
  • Assisted Living and Memory Care
  • Skilled Nursing
  • Home- and Community-Based Care services, including PACE, Adult Day Health Care, and Home Care

Goal

The goal of LeadingAge Pacific West is to help develop progressive and innovative strategies for older adults to age well into the future. Paramount concerns in aging services include providing more options for care; continuity, accessibility and flexibility of services; reasonable and secure financing; affordable senior housing; healthcare; education and training programs and research and technological advances – in general, ensuring all of us can age independently and with dignity.

Our National Partner

LeadingAge is an association of 6,000 organizations dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for aging. Together, we advance policies, promote practices and conduct research that supports, enables and empowers people to live fully as they age.

Our Influence

LeadingAge Pacific West’s influence can be found in all aspects of the policy arena. Leadership in our strategic goals comes from our highly engaged members, who help shape the future by developing public policy, hosting elected officials in their communities, writing letters, providing testimony in public hearings, meeting with legislators and participating in advocacy events at the Capitol.
